If you want to know all the ins and outs keep reading

All you want to do is sell more products.

But writing your own marketing and sales messaging is painful –  that sucks.

You’d rather get a root canal than write marketing messages…

Or on a pain scale 1-10 marketing is an 8

Or it just feels like you’re  putting together a puzzle without a picture to follow.

Here’s the thing…

The reason it sucks is because no one showed you how to do it for your business…as a product maker.

Sure there are courses for coaches.

There are courses for service-based businesses.

There are classes from the SBA and Goldman Sachs 10 K.

But there isn’t really anything geared specifically towards small businesses like yours

That makes soap.

That makes personal care products.

That makes lotion.

That makes organic snacks.

That makes chocolate.

That even makes sustainable water bottles.

And digital marketers sure are persuasive

That’s definitely NOT who you are or how you want your customers to see you.

There are online courses and masterminds from digital marketers that promise 10x more sales and skyrocketing ROIs.

But you don’t want to spend several $K ($1k, $2k…you get the idea) on a course (10 hours, 25 hours, even 50 hours…) that you will never use. Right?!

With all the false promise and hype going on… it’s hard to stand out as an honest, realistic, down-to-earth marketer.

And not knowing if the money you were spending was worth it.

All you want is someone to show you how it’s done…and even write a bit of the copy as an example to follow…so you can write the rest of your products descriptions, categories and emails.

Less suck…more sales

Speak your customers’ “language”

Now,  confidently write marketing messages that help you sell more of your products.

The straight-to-the-point way for a busy product maker like you to learn to write copy and marketing messages that customers WANT to read…and that get more sales.

“I kept imagining what my product would “look and sound like” under their business plan. I didn’t have that question with yours.”

Hey, I’m Christine Laureano…a professional conversion copywriter and marketing strategist for product makers.

Before I started writing for businesses, I was a product maker (for decades..LOL before online marketing was even a thing.)

  • I had a gourmet deli making all kinds of foodie fixins.
  • I created and sewed a line of soft baby clothes called Hampton Baby that were sold in children’s boutiques. (Julie Andrews bought one for her grandson.)
  • I’ve created jewelry.
  • I’m a professional chocolatier (I am a chocolate lover from way back.)
  • I’m a certified aromatherapist and created a line of natural skincare products which I had for 18 years.

I thought digital marketing would be easy…it wasn’t!

With a bachelor’s degree and corporate experience I still felt like a loser!

I have a Bachelor’s degree in marketing and management science. And a minor in computer science with a focus on systems analysis and design.

Okay, that’s cool right?

It was geared toward corporate marketing (and certainly didn’t help with marketing for an online business…because it hadn’t been invented yet. I’m not kidding.)

It didn’t prepare me to market my creative, handmade products business.

Then came the internet… and I ventured into digital marketing.

I took courses. And labs. And dove into masterminds.

I learned a lot.

I applied it to my first product website…and heard nothing but silence (nope not even crickets.)

And I got discouraged (I’m sure you can feel me on this part.)

Because it wasn’t designed for me and the kind of products I produced and sold.

Those courses and masterminds were not created for handmade body care formulators…chocolatiers…soapmakers…organic skincare creators…leathercrafters…or even personal chefs and vegan snack makers.

So I combined old school marketing with online methods to grow and scale my business

I spent years researching and learning ways to market and sell my products to the people that wanted them. (I knew my customers inside and out.)

I avoided the salesy, hard-sell because I knew that was not for me…and it certainly wasn’t what attracted my customers.

I used traditional methods like catalogs and postcards (which had an 85% conversion rate.)

I did shows, markets and events to get in front of my audience (face-to-face is so fun.)

And I used online marketing methods as a way to grow my list and scale my business. (My online sales were my bread and butter.)

I paid big bucks on courses and masterminds…some were good…other’s left me scratching my head and wondering why I spent the money.

In short…I get where you are as a maker!

And I know how to help you create a marketing strategy and write the marketing messages that will get you more product sales…and more real customers who will buy again and again.

"I struggle with writing good product descriptions that don't make claims... they always sound a little lackluster. On that same note, I'm not sure how to word disclaimers/precautions without scaring people away, but I could be overthinking it" ~Abi

Introducing

The Maker Marketing Academy

The Maker Marketing Academy is snack-sized marketing classes and support for makers…by a maker.

(And no countdown timer, no deadline, no hurry up you only have two weeks to get this offer…)

It’s always open and ready when you are.

What’s The Maker Marketing Academy…and why now?

I’ve spent the last 2+ decades manufacturing and marketing my handmade products businesses.

From learning GMP compliance and claims regulations in marketing to writing old school marketing assets like catalogs and direct mail campaigns that resulted in an 85% conversion rate, to digital product launches and email marketing campaigns that ended up growing my business over 564% over the last decade.

All by diving into what I knew worked for my business…and not the “trade secrets of the 7 fig entrepreneurs” that only worked a 4 hour work week. (That’ll never work for a product maker business.)

So…Why now? And why your business?

Etsy’s gross merchandise sales in 2020 was $10.3 billion (yes, that with a “B’)

That’s just Etsy numbers.

What about Faire?

There are more than 2.6 million independent retailers generating almost $1 trillion in annual sales in the U.S. alone, according to the Small Business Administration and Faire. (Source: Forbes)

And then there’s Amazon Handmade..

Amazon’s Handmade category expanded and offered customers over 1 million handcrafted stuff across all the fifty states in the U.S. and in sixty other countries.

The “US North America handicrafts market reached a value of around US$ 218 Billion in 2018. Looking forward, the market is projected to reach a value of US$ 402 Billion by 2024”

There’s a market for what you make and people are looking for you!

Lillian felt confident and knew your customers valued her products.

Thank you so much, Christine! This definitely reassures me that what I’m doing is valuable! With so many candle and lotion makers out there I often find myself feeling like I don’t bring anything special to the table.

The questions I get asked the most…

What will writing better copy do for my conversions?

When your messaging follows the structure and “rules of copywriting” you’ll not only increase your customer base but generate more sales.

Will you give me copy suggestions I can use on my site?

Yes, absolutely. I won’t rewrite your copy, but as you work through each section of your pages, each class will help you  write messaging in your customer’s “language,” get your reader’s attention, engage them in the “conversation” so they feel like you’re talking right to them. And recommend calls to action so your customers know what to do next.

Will I have to spend hours learning this material before I can write my messages?

No way. You don’t have time for that!

I’ve created the classes so that you can learn the material in 15-30 minutes. You’ll have worksheets and writing prompts so you can get the work done and move on to the next thing on your maker’s to-do list.
